Lower Barrakka Gardens

Located along Valletta’s eastern bastions, the Lower Barrakka Gardens offer a tranquil setting with magnificent views of the Grand Harbour, the Mediterranean Sea and the capital’s historic fortifications. Developed during the early 19th century, the gardens are home to the neoclassical monument dedicated to Sir Alexander Ball, Malta’s first British Civil Commissioner, together with several memorials commemorating important figures and events in Malta’s history.
