San Anton Gardens

Surrounding the historic San Anton Palace, the official residence of the President of Malta, San Anton Gardens are among the oldest and most distinguished public gardens in the Maltese Islands. Originally laid out in the early 17th century by Grand Master Antoine de Paule as part of the palace grounds, the gardens have evolved into a botanical and cultural landmark. They feature centuries-old trees, ornamental ponds, fountains, sculptures and an exceptional collection of indigenous and exotic plant species, creating a landscape of remarkable environmental and historical value.

Ambjent Malta is responsible for the maintenance and horticultural management of the gardens’ extensive soft landscaped areas, ensuring the continued care of their mature trees, lawns, ornamental planting and diverse botanical collections. Through ongoing maintenance, the gardens’ natural beauty and environmental value are preserved for the enjoyment of present and future generations.
