Comino Habitat Restoration

Ambjent Malta is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of Comino through targeted environmental initiatives. Our efforts include the removal of invasive alien species such as Acacia saligna, Ailanthus altissima, and Opuntia ficus-indica, which threaten local ecosystems. In their place, we are planting a variety of indigenous trees and shrubs, promoting biodiversity and restoring the island’s native flora whilst creating natural corridors for fauna. These actions are crucial for maintaining Comino’s ecological balance and ensuring a thriving environment for both wildlife and visitors.
